La ville de Nogent (et bassin) a acquis depuis le 17e siècle une solide renommée et son seul nom suffit à identifier une coutellerie de qualité.
Le Musée de la coutellerie présente, dans un cadre moderne, le patrimoine coutelier traditionnel de Nogent et la coutellerie d’art, avec ses technologies nouvelles.
Entre pièces de coutellerie d’exécution remarquable et reconstitutions d’ateliers, le musée présente l’histoire technique et sociale de l’activité coutelière du 18e siècle à nos jours.
